I noticed when Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo reunited for Vegas Vacation in 1997, they drove a Ford Explorer. I think that was an intentional nod towards the Family Truckster from the previous movie. The Explorer did not have a bunch of extra headlights and taillights glued on to it, though ha ha ha

This movie was kind of a last hurrah for the traditional family vacation in a station wagon. The minivan would soon take over by ‘84 and ‘85; LOVED this movie too, lol
